Snow Day! 02/26/2010
While we're busy digging out of the 12"+ of snow we're still getting today, we thought everybody might like to have a look at a great article concerning the ineffectiveness of the new anti-stalkerazzi laws by Nicole LaPorte and The Daily Beast. Be sure to click through for the video gallery—maybe we're the ones who need a law enacted! And to all our friends in the tri-state, if you're driving today, be safe, and if you managed to avoid that, stay warm! This just in! 02/24/2010
We're all stoked that HBO has picked up the rights for Smash His Camera here in the US! No news yet on the world broadcast premiere, but keep checking your local listings with the DVR remote close by (or just follow us here, and on Twitter and Facebook for updates). And, if you happen to be in the Columbia, MO area this weekend, be sure to stop off at the 2010 True/False Film Festival to catch a screening—click through for a lineup courtesy of our buddies at indieWIRE. In other news, there are a couple more great pieces up on the tubes as of late: thestar.com has a very insightful article by Peter Howell discussing what makes Ron tick, and that includes snippets from their recent interview at Gallery Mar in Utah. Also, The Warehouse kicks off their {w}5 segment with another nice RG interview. Check 'em out! Congratulations Robert! 02/16/2010
A big round of applause is due for our good friend, Robert Verdi, whose terrific new reality show has just premiered on Logo TV. In case you missed it, it's called The Robert Verdi Show, and we've embedded the first episode below for your viewing pleasure. Congratulations Robert—we love the show, and we love you too! In case you missed it, have a look at CNN's The Original Paparazzo segment, including Ron's interview with Brooke Anderson at Gallery Mar in Park City. Our good friend, Liz Smith, is at it again over on wowOwow.com; this time with a nice little write-up of her thoughts on Man in the Mirror and Warhol by Galella. Check it out, and when you do, click through to pick up copies of your own from Amazon. Thanks, Liz! ![]() Photo © 2010 Associated Press Our sincerest condolences go out to the friends and family of the original "King of Paparazzi", Felice Quinto, who passed away this January 16th. We here at RGHQ are all grateful for having witnessed the result of Felice's vision, which helped pave the way for artists like Ron. He will truly be missed. From Ron & Betty with Love... 02/02/2010
A very special thanks to my cousin, Ottavio Galella, his wife Marisa, and daughters Sarah and Stefanie, for their tremendous love and support. Ottavio, who made our trip to Sundance Film Festival possible, is an outstanding citizen of Montreal, son of Muro Lucano, Italy, philanthropist, and patron of the arts; it has been the single most extraordinary event in my life to connect with him. Betty and I are deeply grateful to you, Ottavio, and to quote one of Betty's bunny books, "we love you to the moon and back!" Grazie! |
